In partnership with the Illinois State Treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Department, the library is pleased to host an unclaimed property event on Friday, November 14 from 10 AM-2PM. According to the State Treasurer’s website, the state is holding more than 5 billion dollars in unclaimed funds. The state holds the unclaimed properties until the claimant or their heir provide proper identification and request the funds. This free service is a drop-in event so stop in and see if there is money owed to you from a long forgotten account. Call the library at 815-476-2834 for additional information.
