Programs

Storytime
September 21 & 28, October 5 & 12, December 7, 14 & 21 at 1:00 P.M.
Storytime is a weekly "must" for children ages 3-5. We’re going to have fun singing, dancing, and read lots of wonderful books.

Babygarten
Wednesdays at 10:00 starting September 21
Babygarten is much more than a play group! Infants and their caregivers will share nursery rhymes, songs, and books but also get a chance to make fun projects that demonstrates the babies’ developmental milestones—usually a homemade toy or a baby book item. Many projects and activities will emphasize the importance of reading to babies AND parents will learn how to do this more effectively. The class concludes with a free play period.

Snoopy & His Peanut Friends
October 1 at 1:00 P.M.
Join us for the celebration of the anniversary of the debut of the Peanuts Comic Strip by Charles Schulz on October 2, 1950. Stories, games, crafts, and activities will celebrate this event. We’re going to have a “Snoopy” good time!

Make And Take Crafts
October 10 & 25, November 14, and December 12
The library will be offering several "Make and Take" craft days. Create your craft any time during 10:00 A.M.—4:00 P.M. A table will be set up with the craft of the week examples and supplies. Hope to see you at the library!

Make Your Own I Spy Box
October 6 at 4:30 P.M.
If you enjoy I Spy books then you will enjoy this program. Using pizza boxes, each child will make their own I Spy Box. For this program, please bring small trinkets, toys and stickers from home to help create this project.

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
October 13 at 10:00
Over twenty years ago, Jon Scieszka wrote “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs,” a tale that made us all rethink the wolf’s traditional role in traditional fairytales. This program celebrates, Scieszka’s book and questions who is really at fault? Was the wolf really bad?

Mother Goose Rhyme Time
October 17, 24, and 31 at 1:00 P.M.
Mother Goose Rhyme Time is a gathering of caregivers and children who come together to learn and share the joys of nursery rhymes, songs, and stories. Caregivers and toddlers gather together for a fun time of learning nursery rhymes and songs.

Haunted Halloween Happenings
October 27 at 1:30 P.M.
Costumed characters tell spooky stories about creepy critters that tingle the spine and tickle the funny bone! LIVE ANIMALS add to the excitement of The Headless Horseman, Wiley the Hairy Man, Roger William’s Bones, and The Haunted Forest.

Toddler Art
November 2, 9 & 16 at 1:00 P.M.
During this program children will learn about color, texture and more while experimenting with new and innovative materials.

National Gaming Day
November 12 at 1:30 P.M.
Come out and get your game on! We will have a variety of video and board games available for all ages to play together. Feel free to bring your own games from home.

Gross Me Out
November 15 at 4:30 P.M.
We are having a “grossy” good time at the library! Join us for a program celebrating all things gross. We will be making fake dog poop and serving a kitty litter cake. Sign up if you dare.

Christmas Celebration
December 3 at 1:30 P.M.
In appreciation of the patrons we serve, we invite everyone to drop in for a great time in celebrating the season. There will be holiday music, crafts, refreshments, games and fun for all. Best of all, Santa will be here!

Beading With Becky for Kids
December 6 at 4:30 P.M.
Sign up for this program and join us in making your very own charm bracelets. You will be able to pick out your own charms and make a one of a kind creation.


eBook Grant

Wilmington Library has been awarded a grant, which will allow users to access a number of eBooks for youths. You will need to provide your library card number to access these books.
