II. Type of Equipment
- Wilmington Public Library District cardholders may place holds on equipment through the circulation/catalog system. Holds placed by cardholders from other libraries will not be honored.
- The circulation period for equipment is 2 weeks. Renewals are not permitted.
- The overdue fine on equipment is $1.00 per day.
- Digital Audio Players (Otis MP3 Players)
- Equipment is available for circulation only to patrons age 18 years and older who are valid cardholders of Wilmington Public Library District cards. There is no reciprocal borrowing or interlibrary loan of equipment.
- Each digital audio player is checked out as a bagged kit. Parts of the kit, and their replacement costs billed to patrons for loss or damage, are:
Otis digital audio player $ 100.00
Automobile cassette adapter $ 20.00
Automobile power adapter $ 15.00
AAA rechargeable batteries (2) $ 5.00
Carrying case for Otis player $ 5.00
Earphones $ 2.00
Instruction card $ 0.00
Total for lost kit: $ 147.00
- Library staff members shall follow established procedures for loading/deleting audiobook files, checking and refreshing kit contents, and other tasks involved with the circulation of digital audio players.
- Leap Pads
- Leap Pads may not be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.
- Each Leap Pad is checked out as a bagged kit. Parts of the kit, and their replacement costs billed to patrons for loss or damage, are:
Leap Pad $ 60.00
Power adapter $ 15.00
Headphones $ 5.00
Total for lost kit: $ 80.00
- Users may check out up to one Leap Pad and two Leap Pad books at one time.
- Overdue fine for Leap Pad books is $.10 per day.
- If either part of a Leap Pad book is lost the user must pay the complete replacement cost of the book.
- Laptops

- Laptops may be checked out for in-library use only.
- Patrons must have a valid library card from Wilmington Public Library District or a Prairie Area Library System member library. Valid is defined as no overdue items and fines below $5.00.
- Laptops will check out for one hour only and may not be renewed.
